inspiration of the month

1. Cheryl Cole... do I need to say more.
2. This room is beautiful! I'm moving right now and in the process of decorating and these colors and the vintage feel of this are so great.
3. This picture and obviously the outfit make me so ready for the warm weather to come back.
4. Drake.. Rihanna.. again do I need to say more? The "What's my name." video is so inspiring to me, the song.. the outfits.. the color.. the mood.. EVERYTHING.
5. How cute, right? If it wasn't only 15 degrees outside right now I would so make a tent and spend the night in it. Especially with a special someone.
6. Lady like purses. A huge trend for Fall, I'm still in love and always have been.
7. Drake, again. His music has been on repeat for the past couple of weeks. His songs not only have the ability to make you wanna dance, but they give you a feeling. And they are also inspiring for outfit choices too.
8. The jacket and the sunlight look so peaceful. Plus it's a fur jacket... LOVE.
9. Oh Abby, I love everything about you and your outfit!
10. Lea Michele at the Hollywood Style Awards. I'm obsessed with this dress, the length, color, and fabric are perfect. And of course I love her just as much!
11. Stella McCartney's Resort 2011 collection. Gahhh just looking at it makes me sigh. It's perfection. The structure of each piece is amazing. I love the neutral tones of the tan and white and pops of color. I also love the florals, I love florals so seeing this makes my eyes happy. She never fails to amaze me with her collections.
12. The "Easy Riders" spread in Elle. All of the fur and big floppy hats and the huge sunglasses are amazing. I love the whole feel of the spread. So inspiring.

updated preppy

One of my favorite looks is the preppy style. It's so classic and no matter what, it's always in style. It's constantly updating itself to stay in touch with the runway designs. Many high end designers are even categorized with the preppy look such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Tory Burch. Many celebrities are also seen with an updated preppy look such as Blake Lively who keeps it more classic and Olivia Palermo who has a more fashion forward approach to it.

red, white, and sparkles

The Christmas holiday is just around the corner, and you know what that means?! Tons of parties which call for cocktail dresses and festive gifts! Three of the biggest trends right now are also some of my favorites. I absolutely love the color red. Not only does it compliment my skin tone, I think it looks great on everyone! And there are so many different ways to wear it. It can be something as subtle as red lipstick or lip stain, or something bold as a vibrant red blazer. Another one of my favorite colors is white. The old tale about not being able to wear white after labor day, to me, goes completely unnoticed when it comes to the holiday season, especially when you know how to wear it. And last, but definitely not least, are sequins. I love love love this trend right now! It gives any outfit that little extra something, and it can also be worn casual or dressed up. This holiday season be sure to keep in mind that it is okay to go all out and dress up and have fun! That's what I tell myself, ALWAYS have fun when it comes to putting together the perfect outfit for any occasion.

bohemian chic

Vanessa Hudgens style can be summed up into two words: Bohemian Chic. Her outfits usually consist of distressed jeans, flowy tops, gladiator sandals, and slouchy boots. Even though this look can go bad, real quick, she always seems to look so kept together which makes her look effortlessly chic.

gameday fashion

One of my favorite things in life is College football. Unfortunately my school doesn't have a football team, but what can you expect from an art school? haha! I am lucky enough to have friends that go to large schools with football teams. One of the best things about gameday is getting ready for it. Sometimes I feel like what people are wearing is almost as important as the actual football game. With tailgating and standing in the stands, it's important to look good, but also feel comfortable because a lot of walking and standing is involved during gameday.

My inspiration for gameday fashion comes from attending numerous games with my best friend at Clemson University. Since the school is located in the south a lot of the styles seen are very southern based such as the cowboy boots. But there is also this classiness seen in many outfits such as the pretty dresses and sleek watches. I chose to show two weather conditions for examples. The dress and boots are perfect for the warmer weather, and the skinny jeans, sweater, and scarf are great for when the temperature starts to drop during the fall.

No matter what school you attend or what team you pull for, style is always important. Incorporate your teams colors with every piece of clothing you try to pull together. Also, always consider weather conditions and the activities you are going to be taking part in during the day. And the most important thing of all, try to make sure your outfit has spirit and portrays what your school stands for!
